Belief Statement
Technology in the classroom in the right amount, at the right time, and with the right content can have extraordinary results. Academically, technology can be used as a form of differentiation. Technology can be interactive and engaging for many students. Different websites and online activities can provide the differentiation on both ends of the spectrum for teachers in adaptations and extensions. Behaviorally, teachers can use technology as incentives or even as breaks for students that need time off from academic work. Even low-tech activities and resources can serve to be very useful in the classroom, such as calculators, electronic buttons, and music. The world today is rapidly developing technologically, and it is important that every classroom provide challenge and comfort in technology while still balancing what students need to know with what will help them achieve success outside of schools and gradebooks. It is difficult to say exactly how I will incorporate technology into my classrooms since new and better things continue to develop, but regardless of what is available, I will utilize what I have to meet the individual needs of my students.
